Croutons

Four cups cubed bread–I like to use egg bread and I usually hamburger buns.  If you use regular bread be sure to slice it at least 3/4 inch thick so your croutons are not too small.

In small bowl mix together:

1/2 cup olive oil

lay bread on sheet pan and pour seasoning mixture over the top.  Using your hands toss the bread well, to coat.

Bake croutons in 350 oven on middle rack for 10 minutes.  Stir and bake another 10 minutes.  The croutons should be a medium golden brown.  If they are a very light gold, continue baking for another 5 or six minutes.

Allow to cool and put in zip loc bag or plastic container.

Important!!!  Mix salad with dressing and add croutons at the last minute.  Toss gently and serve immediately.  These croutons will stay fresh in container for three or four days.

Enjoy
