1 small can reduced sodium v8 juice (This will be a bit runny)
OR
1/2 cup pureed tomatoes (This will have a thicker consistency) I usually used the Aurora brand or another that comes in a glass jar.
2 TBLSP. balsamic vinegar
1/2 teaspoon of:
Chili powder
mustard powder
1 clove fresh garlic or 1/2 tsp granulated garlic
1/4 tsp. ground ginger
salt
add 1/4 cup brown sugar
stir
If you want a bit of heat add a
pinch of cayenne or pinch of chili flakes
I apply barbecue sauce once I have turned my burgers. The first cooked side will be face up. Add sauce. when grill side is cooked, turn one more time to add sauce to that cooked side. Let the burger cook for another two minutes and remove from grill.
